Topic: How to Be Productive as a Single Girlie

Single girlies, does being productive feel as hard as fighting the urge to midnight snack that treat you like so much?

Been there, done that, and still struggling…

Of course, having a productive life makes us feel good.

It also helps us achieve our dreams and desires much faster than if we go down the procrastination road and get lost in it.

Maybe it’s the scary thought of going out of your comfort zone that’s keeping you from being productive.

Or maybe you’re just tired of fighting yourself or the external things you’ve been encountering in the journey...

Girl, news flash! It doesn’t have to be a make it or break it sort of situation.

You’re ALLOWED to take baby steps.

You’re ALLOWED to stop to take a break.

You’re ALLOWED to be confused and ask questions.

Why? Because, when you’re working on yourself, best believe that the universe got you, girl!

So, as a fellow single girlie, I have lined up several tips that you can take with baby steps and at your own pace to get you back on the lane to productivity.

Start with a List

The first thing I advise you to do is to make a list of the things you want to start for the day.

One trick to not make it feel so exhausting is to alternate your activities. So, big chores with simple chores.

For example, you can pair simple chores like watering the plants with big chores like taking the dog for a walk.

So, best not to cram big chores into a day’s work.

You can also pair activities that are High Priority with ones that are lower.

For example, if it’s a high priority for you to do groceries shopping, you can pair it with lower ones like washing your hair.

Get a Buddy

If it’s really hard to take accountability by yourself, you can get a buddy to help you out.

There are apps online that you can download where you can have video sessions with people who are willing to help you.

Or, you can also do it with a close friend or a family member if, like me, sharing with strangers gets your stomach all in a knot.

The trick here is to be accountable for simple chores at first.

Then, when that has improved, you can move on to bigger tasks.

Minimize Distractions

One of productivity’s biggest enemies is obviously distractions.

When you’re distracted, it’s easy to move away from what you’re working on.

So, one great thing you can do for yourself about this is to minimize distractions.

How? Go simple!

If you spend hours every day listening to music, you can slowly switch to the instrumental version of whatever song you’re listening to.

Or, if your distraction is in the form of social media scrolling, you can alternate between scrolling and working.

And, as you get better in concentrating, you can increase the amount of time working and decrease the amount of time scrolling.

Minimizing distractions is hard, so don’t beat yourself up when you fail.

It’s okay, girl. Just dust yourself and get back up.

Give Yourself Rewards

Rewards just make chores feel more pleasant to do, no?

So, I advise you stock up on your fave snacks or funny cat clips the next time you’re trying to get something hard done.

Don’t give up when you end up bingeing on that bag of snacks, though.

Instead, realize that it’s just part of building the consistency needed for you to be productive.

Or, preparing smaller portions of those snacks (or whatever rewards you like) can also be a good trick to do.

That way, you’ll feel more mindful of the portions you’re taking to reward yourself.

Come try it out!

Final Words

In your quest to being more productive, do make more space for self love and less space for guilt trips.

Starting a new habit is not easy and nor is stepping out of your comfort zone.

Also, shape any unrealistic standards into more realistic ones (e.g. with S.M.A.R.T), so it can be easier for you to succeed.

Remember, you’re not lazy or hopeless.

You’re just choosing actions that aren’t aligned with your goals.

Also, ALL feelings are valid (yes, I’m talking about those fears and doubts!). So, please please please acknowledge and work through them.

Alas… you got this, girlie! Let’s go!
